A third MotoGP world title in four years is inside touching separation for Marc Marquez after the Spaniard overwhelmed his home Aragon GP Sunday.
The 23-year-old Repsol Honda rider battled back after an early specialized issue, which saw him quickly drop to fifth position from shaft, to claim his fourth triumph of the 2016 crusade.
Guarding champion Jorge Lorenzo edged his Movistar Yamaha colleague Valentino Rossi for second place to assist enhance Marquez's title possibilities.
MotoGP legend Rossi ran wide on Turn 1 of the last lap and needed to settle for third place, losing nine potential additional focuses in the title fight.
The Italian trails Marquez by 52 with Lorenzo a further 14 focuses uncontrolled.
Just four rounds of the season stay as Marquez hopes to add to his 2013 and 2014 titles.
"Rossi was picking up focuses, so this is great," he told the authority MotoGP site as he thought about his triumph.
Marquez had overwhelmed his most outstanding opponent on his way back through the pack and once he hit the front searched untouchable for his first win on home soil since 2014.

Rossi, edgy for a tenth world title to top his sparkling profession, then went under weight from Spaniard Lorenzo and was inevitably surpassed with five laps remaining.
His last lap blunder made the second platform spot alright for Lorenzo, whose claim odds of triumph were traded off by a crash in the warm-up.
Another Spaniard, Maverick Vinales on a Suzuki, was a testing fourth in front of Cal Crutchlow of Britain.
Dani Pedrosa, who won the past San Marino round on Rossi's home track at Misano, balanced the main six.
Prior, Brad Binder of South Africa wrapped up the Moto3 title after he completed second to Spain's Jorge Navarro at Motorland.
